This Blog is for You
You are a parent, caretaker of one or many tiny people. You may live in a foreign country. You may be working, stay-at-home, or being a trailing spouse.
I think you are adventurous and curious, you enjoy exploring new places, cultures and experiences. You are practical and resourceful as you are balancing life between “tourist” and “resident” responsibilities. You are family-orientated as you prioritise your children’s experiences, education and integration. You are seeking connection as you are looking for a sense of community and shared experiences with other expat families. You are appreciative of local culture as you enjoy the mix of being a visitor while adapting to a new tradition.
Otherwise you may feel as an outsider despite living in a place for a longer period of time. You are navigating everyday tasks like school runs and other activities for your children on a foreign language. It may be challenging to make friends and finding a support system around you, someone who could help you guide through the intricacies of the education system. Let it be language barrier or cultural differences in parenting style. You are constantly on a hunt for kid-friendly and expat-friendly activities.
What you will find on my blog
Family-Friendly Activities: I spend all my ‘limited’ free time on researching places to visit with our kids. We are currently a family of five with a 2, 3 and 7 years old at toe. This is my passion and inspiration for this blog.
Cultural Insights: As someone new to the area of Ticino, I have already came across a few traditions that I have never heard of before. I love to learn about cultures, customs and traditions. And you can be sure I will share what I discovered.
Personal Stories: Once a month, I like to post about the highlights of the last 30ish days. It is my way of keeping myself accountable to the 1000 Hours or Outside Challenge that we track with the kids.
If you feel like sharing a story or collaborating, don’t be shy to get in touch.
